We have moved our Troop Calendar to www.scoutbook.com and it is only available to scouts and their parents, who can subscribe their devices and computers to the troops calendar following the directions below.
In addition to our weekly meetings on Wednesday nights from 7:30-9:00 PM at Christ’s Church, Rye (so long as Rye City Schools are in session that day), every month we try to have 2-3 outdoor activities, and at least one community service project. Recent activities have included:
Campouts — in tents during the warm months, and cabins or lean-to’s during the winter
Backpacking treks — typically 5-10 miles per day and 1-2 nights, on scenic trails throughout the northeast
Day hikes — typically half-day hikes on scenic local trails
Rock climbing — both at indoor climbing facilities and outdoor in the Shawangunks, led by professional instructors
White-water rafting and canoeing — most recently on the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers
Cycling trips — on local trails, such as the Old Croton Aqueduct
Shooting sports — led by certified instructors at licensed facilities in the area
Summer camp — two weeks (scouts can elect one or both), typically at Curtis Read or Ten Mile River Scout Reservations
Merit badge sessions — led by qualified and certified local merit badge counselors
Numerous community service projects — benefiting our chartered organization as well as needy organizations throughout the area
Memorial Day and Veterans Day ceremonies — in conjunction with the American Legion and City of Rye
Courts of Honor — ceremonies held three times a year in which scouts are recognized for their accomplishments
Fundraisers — to help fund our adventures and necessary gear
