We're looking to set dates for work on two different merit badges; Climbing and Stamp Collecting.  Yes, they are at opposite ends of the physical exertion spectrum, but both also provide significant mental stimulation!

A "Don't Miss" full day of program ideas and learning to make your unit flourish. A variety of courses for anyone engaged in delivering quality programs and activities to all levels of Scouting youth. U of S will again sponsor a Doctorate Program! As a follow-up to our Parent meeting Tuesday night, please find attached a copy of the PDF showing the course to be taken to receive a "Trained" badge for your uniform shirt.  Page 3 shows the definitive list of the online training required to be a member of the Troop Committee, a MB Counselor, an Assistant Scout Master, etc.   Note that the Scout Master / Assistant Scout Master position requires completion of "Introduction to Outdoor Leadership Skills" to be considered trained.  This is a real-world class, scheduled on specific dates throughout the year.  For an overview of the course, please see: https://filestore.scouting.org/filestore/training/pdf/IOLS_33640_2016.pdf

Engineering Expo & Merit Badge - 31 March - White Plains HS

Every year, the Lower Hudson Valley Engineering Expo is conducted at White Plains, HS.  This event provides an opportunity to learn a bit about a lot of different kind of engeering disciplines, see demonstrations of neat technology, and, of particular interest to scouts, to work on the Engineering MB.  The following link will take you to the event site: http://www.beanengineer.org/

Please find attached an updated copy of the Troop 2 affiliated merit badge counselors.  This list also includes several counselors who live in Rye and so should be responsive to contact.  Bob Zahm can provide phone / email information for counselors from outside troop and for other merit badges besides those in the attached list.

Klondike Prep and Senior Webelos Cabin Campout with Pack 2 and Pack 11 - January 4/5

Join us at Durland Reservation for a fun outdoor weekend.  We will meet at Durland around 6:00 PM Friday, in time to help the scouts build a campfire and prepare dinner.  Friday night will include rank advancement and other fun activities.  We will wake early Saturday for a 3 mile hike, followed by pancakes and bacon back at the cabin.  Dress warmly for outdoor activities, and bring a change of clothes.  If the weather cooperates, we will use this weekend to prepare for the Klondike race and activities! Dress approrpriately for the hike...no sneakers or sweatpants!  All food will be provided.
