Council Camporee on May 2 - 4

Every four years (kind of like the Olympics!) the Westchester-Putnam Council holds a Camporee inviting all troops across the four districts that make up our Council area (we're in the Algonquin District, just so ya know).  The next Camporee is being held in less than one month on the first weekend in May and is being held at Croton Point Park. Rye Troop 2 needs to have a strong turnout at this event so please sign up ASAP!!

Scout Summer Camp Registration

Registration for Camp Read opens on April 1.  To register your scout you must:

 > Submit a check made out to Rye Troop 2  (One week - $415, Two weeks - $810) late fee applies after June 1

2014 Summer Camp!

Parents and scouts should plan on attending our next troop meeting (Tuesday March 25th) to hear about Troop 2's planned two weeks of summer camp.  Every summer, the troop provides an opportunity for our scouts to spend up to two weeks at the Curtis S. Read camp in New York's Lake George region. 

US Flag Retirement Ceremony - Saturday 29 March 10:30am Disbrow Park

The American Legion is retiring the worn US flags collected at city hall as well as from the Greenwood Union cemetery.  Scouts are requested to attend the cermony in uniform at Disbrow field - Saturday March 29th at 10:30am.

ILST Training with Asst Junior Scoutmaster Sean Byrne

Sean will again be leading the Introduction to Leadership Skills for Troops (ILST) training sessions.  Meetings will take place on three Tuesdays from 6:30 to 7:30 PM at Rye Presbyterian (same place as our regular meeting, just one hour prior).  First session is Tuesday, March 11.  This training is for everyone with a Position of Responsibility. Please sign up so Sean can plan the sessions accordingly.
