5 Mile Rye Hike - Advancement Reqmt! - 21 Jan

Posted on Jan 18 2017 - 6:45pm

In an effort to accomodate scouts who need to complete a 5-mile hike using a map and compass, and to resurrect an event that we used to do regularly, we would like to hold a hike Saturday morning January 21.  We would meet at Rye Town Park and proceed to walk towards Greenwood Union Cemetery, stopping along the way at such historical landmarks as the Knapp House.

Parent Meeting - 17 Jan 7:30pm

Posted on Jan 11 2017 - 2:48am

Tuesday 17 January - we will hold our mid-winter parent meeting in parallel to the troop meeting. ALL parents are encouraged to attend.  This one is particularly important because we must approve transition of our troop's scoutmaster role.  We will also get an initial briefing on summer camp.  Discuss scout recruiting / retention.  And we'll receive a request for [tax deductible] donations to Weschester-Putnam Council.

Sr Webelos Cabin Campout - Jan 6/7

Posted on Dec 22 2016 - 9:14am

Please join with the Senior Webelos for an active night of Cabin Camping at Camp Durland.  This annual event provides the scouts with a chance to meet some of the future troop members. It also gives the Webelos a chance to meet the troop and fulfill some of their order of the arrow requirements.  The more scouts we have attend, the better this event is.  And, there's usually some Klondike Derby prep on Saturday.  And if you've not stayed at Camp Durland, a few parents would be heartily welcomed to assist with driving and maintaining two-deep leadership.  Please register here: http://ryetroop2.com/node/3031
